March 2009 - Diamond Castle Barbie - Isn't she beautiful. We found this design, along with others, in an article to celebrate Barbie's 50 years. Cannot believe that she has been around for that long inspiring generations before us and no doubt generations to come. Anyways, this particular design was requested and we had a lot of fun putting her together. I was ever so reluctant to strip the "Muse" (for those of you that have seen the movie) of her legs that I used a large pudding bowl, along with 2 other round cake tins to assemble enough height. The cakes were coloured with pink food colouring to match the scheme as well. We also added in little mini cupcakes to hold the candles. This certainly inspired some oohs and aahhs at the party - 40 odd little 6 year olds and a few adults (I was mighty chuffed with myself I have to say) - unfortunately you can also see by the picture that by the time we took the photos, little fingers had also been a prodding and the poor girl was taking on a serious slant or maybe she was getting into the theme of the party and ready for the "Disco" moves.
