December 2008 - I had a heap of fun doing this cake - sourcing all the lollies (YUM) and I found the cutest little candles to use as well. Finding the monkeys and the plastic bugs etc for the top was a bit of a mission tho - for some reason all the places that I usually haunt for this type of thing just did not come through with the goods. The result was not too dissappointing tho. This cake was 3 layers of a 22inch pan. Vanilla Buttercake filled with Raspberry Jam and Buttercream in the centres. Iced with a gourmet jungle green and topped with a variety of fondant palm leaves in various shades of green. This cake is another Womans Weekly original as well. I also added mini cupcakes in the same theme all the way around. The result was rather spectacular and I think the birthday boy was rather excited too.
